Product descriptions: Note that the sizes listed in the product descriptions are for the image, not paper sizes. Margins vary but average one to two inches top, bottom, and both sides. Paper weights are also listed in the description – cover stock paper is thicker and more rigid than text stock, which is lighter and easier to roll or fold. All of the plans and views in the Souvenir Series are printed on text stock; the Museum Series maps are usually – but not exclusively – printed on cover stock.

Time frame: Orders typically will ship within 24-48 hours of receipt and usually are mailed the same day they’re received by our staff. Orders received on a Friday afternoon or during the weekend will ship on Monday. If we have a question about your order, we’ll contact you immediately so it can be processed as quickly as possible.

Packing: Because our carrier of choice is the U.S. Postal Service, we often use their Priority Mail packaging, which is a triangular cardboard box. Your order is either placed in a plastic sheath or packed with bubble paper or both to reduce movement in the box during shipment. This insures that your maps arrive in perfect condition. If the package is damaged in transit, notify us immediately. We will make arrangements with the carrier to pick up the damaged parcel and return it to us for inspection. Your order will be replaced immediately.

Special packing: Customers may request that their order be packaged flat in a box for which there is an additional charge.

Payment options: We process payments using the online service PayPal, which is easy, safe, and secure. Payments can be made using an existing PayPal account or, if you don’t have one, a debit or credit card. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. You may also mail your order and enclose payment; our address is: Historic Urban Plans, Inc., P.O. Box 276, Ithaca, New York, 14851, USA. If you order by mail, you may pay with a credit card, by check drawn on any US bank, or money order made out in US dollars.

Shipping: We ship our packages using the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). Priority service is preferred but we also use First Class and Standard Post (formerly called Parcel Post) for larger orders. Orders to foreign addresses, including Canada and Mexico, will also be shipped using USPS unless another carrier is requested. Customers may request other shipping services (e.g. delivery confirmation, insurance, etc.) for an additional charge.

Shipping fee: The shipping fee depends on the size of the order and ranges from $6.00 to $10.00; orders shipping to Alaska or Hawaii are charged a higher fee.

Shipping time: Most orders will arrive within 2-4 business days after pick up from our warehouse in Ithaca, New York. For example, service to most addresses in New England and the Mid-Atlantic States takes about 2 business days; service to the West Coast takes about 3 business days after pick up.

Expedited shipping: Overnight and expedited shipping is available for an additional fee. Preferred carriers include UPS, USPS and Federal Express. Please call us at 607-272-MAPS or send an email for the types of service available and the fee.

Return policy: If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your order, return it within 7 days of receipt for a complete refund. Please use care in packing and mailing your order since we will not grant a full refund for maps damaged during the return shipment.
