Santa Fe, New Mexico 1846 – Souvenir Series

$16.00

This manuscript in the National Archives was drawn when American troops occupied Santa Fe during the Mexican War. It shows the central plaza reduced in size from its original design and the gradual development of the street pattern on the plan established early in the seventeenth century. The facsimile reproduces the gray and blue color washes used by the cartographer to emphasize buildings and streams.
